Meet Austin Standish |
What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or an historic
person?
Austin Standish is a combination of historical Western personalities and my imagination. He's the result of an endless, lifetime love affair I've had with the Old West.
When and where is the story set?
Story is set partly in San Francisco, and partly in New Orleans, approximately ten years after the Civil War.
What should we know
about him/her?
Austin is a man of refined taste, a true gentleman, but he is also the consummate professional in his line of work-which is pretty much gambling and gunslinging. He has an unyielding sense of honour and justice, it's the core of who he is.
What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her
life?
Austin's life is at a crossroads of sorts when we first meet him, even though he doesn't realize it himself. He has fallen for the owner of a high end brothel and casino, and is fascinated with her. She's not what she appears, and when she finally allows him to get close to her, in a night of sexy passion, he knows he doesn't want just one night with her, but the rest of his life.
What is the personal goal of the character?
It's a straightforward goal on the surface, he wants to get the woman he's been dreaming about. In the underlying subtext, the reader soon realizes that despite appearances, Austin is lonely, as is Chantille, and their unspoken need is about rebuilding a life and finding "home" with someone they can trust.
Is there a
working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?
Champagne and Chocolate is the title of the book, for reasons that will make a lot of sense to anyone who reads it. It's available at the following booksellers: ARe Romance - Amazon - Barnes & Noble - Publisher - Smashwords
When can we expect the book to be published?
It was published a couple of months ago, and has been getting awesome reviews. If you like a sexy Western, you should love Champagne and Chocolate!
Next up on the Hop is Nikki Noffsinger!
Bio: Being a mother of 2 sometimes makes one wonder, "Are the monsters running around the house scarier than the ones I write about?" I haven't answered that question just yet! My name is Nikki Noffsinger and I am the author of Cursed Awakening published by Evolutionary Publishing with cover art by Kayden Mcleod. I write all sorts of stories but my favorites are all inspired by my love of fantasy and the paranormal. I started at a tender age loving both books and horror movies and writing paranormal romance gives me a vehicle. I am proud to also be part of the Evolutionary Publishing team.
As a mother, I am also very excited to announce that my publisher has contracted two new Children's Books that I've written, a very exciting change in direction, but one I am very proud of, and hope will be of interest to parents and their kids! More news to come about that, and covers will be revealed soon, as well, and posted to the Coming Soon page of my site as soon as they're available.
Definitely going to add it to my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nikki!! :)
